Comfrey is a perennial herb related to forget-me-not and borage. Is is also known as Bruisewort and Knitbone. Due to the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids, comfrey leaf is limited to topical uses today but should not be applied to open wounds.

Used externally for healing wounds and broken bones. It’s high in calcium Vitamin C and stimulates healing activity. In folk medicine It is sometimes referred to as “knit Bone” for it’s ability to speed wound healing.

Storage tips Store in a glass or ceramic container with a tight fitting lid to keep out moisture.
